Description

This simple guacamole recipe is a quick and delicious fresh dip featuring creamy avocados blended with zesty lime juice, garlic, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and a touch of warm spices. It’s a perfect accompaniment for tacos, chips, or happy hour gatherings and is ready in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Guacamole Ingredients

  • 3 large Avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 clove Garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced Red Onion
  • 1 Jalapeño, deseeded and finely minced
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped Fresh Cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon Chipotle Powder or Chili Powder
  • Sea Salt, to taste
  • Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the avocados: Place a clean kitchen towel under your cutting board to prevent it from slipping. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise, remove the pits gently by twisting or using a spoon, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados: Using a fork or pastry blender, mash the avocado flesh until mostly smooth but retaining a few small chunks for texture, combining creamy and chunky for the ideal guacamole consistency.
  3. Mix in the flavor: Add the lime juice, finely minced garlic, red onion, jalapeño, chopped cilantro including tender stems, ground cumin, and chipotle powder. Stir everything together until evenly combined.
  4. Season and taste: Add sea salt and fresh ground black pepper according to your taste preference. Adjust the acidity with more lime juice if needed to brighten the flavors.
  5. Store or serve: Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to minimize browning and refrigerate until ready to serve, or enjoy immediately for the freshest flavor.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm avocados to get the best texture and flavor.
  • Jalapeño seeds can be included if you prefer more heat.
  • Serving immediately ensures the freshest taste; otherwise, cover tightly to prevent oxidation.
  • Optional: Add diced tomatoes or a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor variations.
