Ingredients
Sliders
- ½ pound sliced oven roasted turkey
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 10 slices Swiss or Havarti cheese
Sauce
- ¾ cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Everything bagel seasoning, optional
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Prepare rolls: Slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the top halves and bottom halves intact as separate sections.
- Assemble sliders: Place the bottom halves of the rolls evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the oven-roasted turkey evenly over the bottoms, then add two thin layers of cheese with turkey in between. Cover with the top halves of the rolls.
- Make sauce: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Whisk in Dijon mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dried minced onion, and salt until thoroughly combined.
- Pour sauce and season: Evenly pour the prepared buttery mustard and onion sauce over the assembled sliders. Optionally, sprinkle the tops with everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake sliders: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 14 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and sliders are heated through.
- Finish baking: Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 3 minutes to lightly brown the tops. Serve these warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Using Hawaiian rolls gives the sliders a sweet, soft texture that complements the savory turkey and cheese.
- Swiss or Havarti cheese works best for melting and flavor, but you can substitute with other mild melting cheeses if desired.
- Dried minced onion adds an appealing texture and flavor that fresh onion cannot replicate here.
- Everything bagel seasoning is optional but adds a nice crunchy, salty finish.
- These sliders are best served fresh and warm right out of the oven.
