Description

Reese’s Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake is a rich chocolate cake with swirls of creamy peanut butter, topped with chocolate chips and Reese’s cups. It’s sweet, gooey, and perfect for peanut butter lovers.

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix + ingredients required eggs, oil, water

For the Peanut Butter Swirl:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar

For Topping:

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, halved

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish or line it with parchment paper. Mix the chocolate cake batter according to the box directions. Pour it into the dish and spread evenly.
  2. Make the Peanut Butter Swirl: Beat softened cream cheese and melted butter until smooth. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Mix in powdered sugar one cup at a time until fluffy.
  3. Assemble the Cake: Spoon the peanut butter mix over the cake batter. Swirl gently with a knife—don’t overmix. Sprinkle chocolate chips and halved Reese’s cups on top.
  4. Bake: Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until mostly set. A toothpick should come out with just a few crumbs.
  5. Serve: Let the cake cool slightly. Slice and serve warm, plain or with vanilla ice cream or chocolate syrup.
