Description

Rich and creamy Instant Pot oatmeal made with old fashioned oats, almond milk, and a touch of butter. Ready in just 15 minutes, this easy breakfast recipe is perfect for busy mornings and can be customized with your favorite toppings for a nutritious start to your day.

Ingredients

Instant Pot Oatmeal

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups almond milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats

Suggested Toppings

  • Maple syrup, chopped pecans, and blueberries
  • Honey and sliced bananas
  • Chocolate chips and melted peanut butter
  • Sliced strawberries and melted almond butter
  • Fresh raspberries and melted Nutella
  • Maple syrup, cinnamon, and brown sugar
  • Chia seeds, granola, and toasted almonds
  • Chopped spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and a fried egg
  • Dried cranberries and orange zest

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add 3 cups water, 2 cups almond milk, 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, ½ teaspoon salt, and 2 cups old fashioned oats to the Instant Pot insert. Stir the ingredients together until well incorporated to ensure even cooking.
  2. Set Pressure Cooker: Secure the lid on the Instant Pot with the valve set to the Sealing position. Set the Instant Pot to Manual Medium Pressure and program the cooking time for 5 minutes. The pot will first pressurize before the cooking time begins.
  3. Pressure Release: Once the 5-minute cook time is complete, carefully perform a Quick Release of the internal pressure. Be cautious of the hot steam escaping during this process.
  4. Serve: Carefully remove the lid and give the oatmeal a good stir. Portion the oatmeal into serving bowls, add your desired toppings, and serve hot for a comforting breakfast.

Notes

  • Almond Milk: You can substitute almond milk with coconut milk, cashew milk, soy milk, or simply water. Using only water will yield a less creamy texture.
  • Meal Prep: Store any leftover oatmeal in airtight containers once cooled completely. Refrigerate and it will keep fresh for up to 5 days.
