Ingredients

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon honey (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 375℉ and grease an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Prepare wet ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, honey, and egg. Then whisk in the buttermilk.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture; stir until well combined.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 18-22 minutes.
