Delicious homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks that are warm, cheesy, and infused with garlic flavor. These breadsticks are a perfect appetizer or side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Topping:
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until frothy.
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise for 1 hour.
- Combine minced garlic and melted butter in a bowl.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle. Brush with garlic butter, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, roll up, slice into breadsticks, and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with remaining garlic butter, sprinkle Parmesan cheese and parsley. Serve warm.
