Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples, then slice them into 1/4-inch thick rings.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the egg and milk to the dry ingredients, and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Dip each apple ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Carefully place the coated rings into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
