Description
These Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings are a deliciously sweet treat made by coating apple slices in a cinnamon-infused batter and frying them to golden perfection. Perfect as a dessert or snack, they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Ingredients
- 4 large apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Peel and core the apples, then slice them into 1/4-inch thick rings.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Add the egg and milk to the dry ingredients, and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each apple ring into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Carefully place the coated rings into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Mix the 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow dish. While the apple rings are still warm, coat them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Best served immediately for maximum crispiness.
- You can use any firm apple variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
- Adjust cinnamon and sugar quantities to taste.
- Make sure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy rings.
