Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box – typically eggs, oil, and water)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup strawberry jam or preserves
- Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to the package instructions and pour most of it into the prepared baking pan, reserving about 1/4 cup for topping.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the brownie batter in the pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of strawberry jam on top of the cheesecake layer and gently swirl it using a knife or toothpick.
- Dollop the reserved brownie batter on top and swirl slightly into the cheesecake layer.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a high-quality brownie mix or make brownies from scratch.
- Chill the brownies before cutting for cleaner slices.
- You can substitute the strawberry jam with raspberry or mixed berry jam.
