Description

These Chocolate Covered Oreos are a vibrant and fun treat featuring creamy Oreo cookies dipped in smooth vanilla almond bark. Perfectly balanced with a crunchy center and a sweet, colorful coating, they are decorated with pastel shades and cheerful sprinkles, making them ideal for parties, gifts, or any celebration.

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 1 pkg (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)

Coating

  • 24 oz pkg vanilla almond bark
  • Blue food coloring gel
  • Green food coloring gel
  • Yellow food coloring gel
  • Pink food coloring gel
  • Purple food coloring gel

Decoration

  • Spring sprinkles
  • 36 cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside for the dipped Oreos to rest on.
  2. Melt Vanilla Almond Bark: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 ounces of vanilla almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring frequently until smooth. Alternatively, melt it using a double boiler if preferred.
  3. Insert Sticks: Dip the end of each cake pop stick into a small amount of melted almond bark, then gently push it into the creamy filling of each Oreo. Allow the chocolate to harden, securing the sticks firmly in place.
  4. Coat Oreos with Plain White Bark: Dip 6 Oreos into the melted vanilla almond bark, fully coating each cookie. Place them on the prepared parchment paper and immediately decorate with spring sprinkles before the coating sets.
  5. Color and Dip Remaining Oreos: Melt another 4 ounces of vanilla almond bark and mix in a small amount of blue food coloring gel to create a pastel blue shade. Dip 6 Oreos into this colored coating, place on parchment, and add sprinkles. Repeat this process with green, pink, yellow, and purple food coloring gels, melting additional bark as needed, coating 6 Oreos per color, and decorating with sprinkles.
  6. Chill and Set: Once all Oreos are dipped and decorated, chill them in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until the almond bark coating is fully hardened.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk chocolate or dark chocolate for the vanilla almond bark for a richer flavor.
  • Add a drizzle of contrasting colored chocolate for extra decoration.
  • Customize colors and sprinkles to match any theme or occasion.
  • Oreos can be dipped without sticks if preferred, for simpler dipped sandwich cookies.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week; refrigerate if kitchen is warm.
  • Avoid freezing as condensation can ruin the chocolate texture and appearance.
  • Use gel food coloring to maintain coating consistency better than liquid food coloring.
