A comforting and delicious twist on the classic Reuben sandwich, this Hearty Reuben Bake features layers of rye bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing, baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Rye Bread:
- 8 slices rye bread, cubed
Corned Beef:
- 1 pound thinly sliced or shredded corned beef
Sauerkraut:
- 1 can (14 ounces) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
Swiss Cheese:
- 2 cups grated Swiss cheese
Thousand Island Dressing:
- 1 cup Thousand Island dressing
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Prepare Ingredients: Cube the rye bread, shred or thinly slice the corned beef, and drain and rinse the sauerkraut.
- Layer Ingredients: Layer half of the cubed rye bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese in the baking dish. Drizzle half of the Thousand Island dressing over the cheese.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients. Drizzle the remaining dressing over the top layer of cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
