Description

Cheeseburger Pie is a delicious skillet dinner that captures all the flavors of a classic grilled cheeseburger. With a savory beef filling, gooey cheese, and a golden baking mix topping, this meal is sure to become a family favorite.


Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion (from 1 medium)
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt (such as Lawry’s)
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose baking mix (such as Bisquick Original Pancake & Baking Mix)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk

For Serving:

  • Toppings: diced tomato, shredded lettuce, chopped red onions, chopped pickles, Burger Sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned and crumbly. Drain if needed, then add seasoned salt, garlic powder, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Spread the meat mixture in the pie plate and top with shredded cheese.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together baking mix, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the cheese and meat.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with your favorite burger toppings like diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, red onions, pickles, or Burger Sauce.
