Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, mashed bananas, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
- You can freeze banana bread slices for up to 3 months.
