- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Crumble Topping:
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Crunchy Topping:
- 2 tablespoons cane sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Make Apple Filling: Toss apples with cornstarch and remaining filling ingredients. Cook until slightly softened, then transfer to the baking dish and bake.
- Make Crumble Topping: Mix melted butter with crumble ingredients. Sprinkle over the apple filling.
- Make Crunchy Topping: Optionally, mix crunchy topping ingredients and sprinkle over the crumble layer.
